Rock the Cure Cut-A-Thon

The National Cut-A-Thon
To Benefit City of Hope Cancer Research

 
Why:
A chance to stand together as salon professionals and fight back against cancer and find a cure.
 
When:
Monday, May 18th* Salons across America will be engaged in a national cut-a-thon and donate a portion of sales for salon services performed that day to City of Hope.
 
How:
Step1  Fill out the below participation form and email it to acourtney@coh.org. After the form is received, City of Hope will send you all the necessary tools needed to ensure the success of your cut-a-thon and with information on how to donate the funds you raise back to City of Hope.
 
Step 2  Recruit! Get your staff involved in your cut-a-thon! Whether you are an independent stylist or large salon, solicit friends, family and colleagues to get the word out about your event. And don’t forget to promote your event through your social media channels using the #RockTheCureCOH campaign hashtag!
 
Step 3  Donate! After you’ve collected cash from your event, deposit it into a personal or business account. Then visit www.crowdrise.com/RocktheCure and use a credit card to transfer your donation to City of Hope.
 
 
*While we encourage everyone to band together on this one day, you can host your own cut-a-thon on ANY day that works best for you and your salon.

The Spirit of Life Award is presented to individuals who exemplify the ideals and values that have guided City of Hope for a century, and whose professional and humanitarian accomplishments are worthy of celebration. Recipients of this prestigious award include a broad range of leaders from the world of business, entertainment, science and philanthropy. What connects them is a shared commitment to elevating the human condition and a profound belief in the power of each individual to effect change.
 
The Spirit of Life, by its very name, represents the intangible qualities that make an individual’s life worthy of admiration: their generosity, their ability to inspire and their desire to make a difference in the world. About Our Honoree

 
Steve Goddard
President, Founder
Pravana International
 
PRAVANA’s creator, Steve Goddard, is a 30-year beauty industry veteran. He began his long career as a way to support himself while attending college, and has gone on to work for some of the largest companies in the beauty business. Shortly after leaving school, Goddard joined Redken as the manager of its product evaluation salon, and climbed the ranks as a platform artist and later in the marketing department, where he was promoted to Senior Vice President of Marketing & Advertising. Shortly thereafter, Goddard became Senior Vice President of Global New Product Development of professional products for Revlon, relocating to Barcelona, Spain. In quick succession, he then became the General Manager of Rusk, a division of Conair, and in 1999, joined Wella Corporation as President and CEO. In 2001, Goddard became President and CEO of Sebastian International and President of Wella's worldwide Salon Conexxion division.
 
In 2004, Goddard returned to his creative marketing roots to launch a new beauty entity: PRAVANA, a boutique brand of highly sophisticated products utilizing the power of the nature and the strength of technology to produce superior, holistic formulas. "I really wanted to return to the excitement of dealing with a small marketing company in creating new products," says Goddard. A genial public speaker with a passion for music and exotic birds, Goddard is a motivator, family man, hairdresser, and accomplished guitarist. He is also a true entrepreneurial spirit, and the source for PRAVANA.
