 Why City of Hope

Golter GateAt City of Hope, we treat people who have cancer and other serious illnesses, not simply the symptoms and the disease.

We strive to treat the whole patient, and we do it with respect, honor, humanity and understanding.  From the encouraging words of our therapists to the unrelenting investigations conducted by our researchers, City of Hope unites science and compassion for a single, guiding reason: as stated so eloquently on our “Golter Gate.” .

 Feature Profile: City of Hope

City of Hope is once again recognized as one of “America’s Best Hospitals” in two specialties by U.S.News & World Report

City of Hope ranked on the magazine’s 2008 lists of top cancer hospitals and centers for urology.

We are the second-highest ranked cancer center in the Los Angeles area to appear on the cancer list and one of only seven centers in California. We also are one of only three in the Los Angeles area to be ranked in urology and one of only six hospitals in California.

Our research helps patients manage and ultimately conquer cancer and other life-threatening diseases. As a National Cancer Institute-designated Comprehensive Cancer Center and a founding member of the National Comprehensive Cancer Network, we help set the standard for cancer care throughout the nation.

City of Hope is home to some of the brightest minds in research and treatment. Our skilled scientists and physicians work as interdisciplinary teams to quickly translate promising laboratory discoveries into new treatments for patients who need them.

Every day, our efforts save lives and improve the quality of life for patients and their families.
