Ali Ehsani, Ph.D., left, gives Duarte High School students a sneak peek at what a career in biomedical research may hold for them.

Ehsani, a research fellow in Beckman Research Institute’s Division of Diabetes, Endocrinology & Metabolism, was among several faculty and staff members who recently gave 38 advanced placement biology students a look at the inner workings of scientific research.

The Feb. 25 field trip to City of Hope — which also included teachers, administrators and several members of the Duarte city council and district school board — was part of a Government and Community Relations initiative to link faculty members, postdoctoral fellows and other staff to local high school students.
