Vice President, Enterprise Systems
As chief technology officer and vice president of enterprise systems, Don Griffin provides leadership for City of Hope’s overall information technology architecture, as well as the design, development, implementation and support of enterprise data warehousing, analytics, our web presence, web application infrastructure and Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP).
Griffin has a 20 year history of demonstrated success in Information Technology. Prior to joining City of Hope, he served as senior director of enterprise data warehousing and analytics at New York University (NYU) Langone Medical Center, an integrated academic medical center and physician group practice system in New York, NY. There he oversaw the development and operation of the data warehouse and analytics platform, the financial cost accounting and decision support system, the executive dashboard and master data management processes and technologies. He was also integrally involved in the development of many systems that helped to integrate the medical center’s Information Technology capabilities with its clinical patient care, research and education activities, as well as its corporate business units and support functions.
Prior to joining NYU, Griffin was the technology director and solution architect for Computer Sciences Corporation's Health Informatics Solutions, leading CSC's healthcare data warehousing and analytics efforts most notably at the National Institutes of Health (NIH) and Ascension Health. He also served as vice president of IT and operations for a data engineering services company in New York, NY, R&D operations director for a technical software company in San Jose, CA, and program manager within the U.S. Department of Energy’s nuclear weapons supercomputing programs in Washington, DC, Los Alamos, NM, Albuquerque, NM, and Livermore, CA. He began his career as a nuclear submarine officer in the United States Navy.
Griffin holds a Master of Science degree in Information Technology and Master of Business Administration degree, both from the University of Maryland. He also holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Systems Engineering from the United States Naval Academy (Annapolis).
