City of Hope is a leader in translational research – a seamless pathway of basic science, clinical research and patient care that empowers important advances in medical progress.

Collaboration is an essential element of translational research, both internally through a multidisciplinary team approach to research and care, and externally through partnerships with other institutions.

City of Hope works with medical and academic centers around the country and internationally on research studies to advance our understanding about cancer, its causes, prevention and treatment. Additionally, our Office of Technology Licensing enables us to work with partnering companies to help develop and bring our scientific discoveries to market for the benefit of all patients.

3/12/2013 - City of Hope selects chief executive for City of Hope Medical Foundation

A former executive vice president at WellPoint Inc., overseeing Comprehensive Health Solutions, Levine will lead the medical foundation in its mission to care for, and provide services to, City of Hope patients.

7/24/2012 - Robert Stone Named President of City of Hope

Robert Stone, J.D., President and Executive Officer of City of Hope Medical Foundation and chief strategy and administrative officer of City of Hope has been promoted to president of City of Hope. Stone will assume the duties of this position on Aug. 1, 2012.

7/17/2012 - City of Hope among the top 25 cancer hospitals in the nation for 2012 by U.S.News & World Report

City of Hope is ranked as the 23rd best cancer hospital in the nation in U.S.News & World Report’s 2012-13 Best Hospitals report. City of Hope also nationally rated as “high-performing” in urology, gynecology and nephrology specialties.

6/11/2012 - City of Hope’s Samuel Rahbar receives ADA’s National Scientific and Health Care Achievement Award for contributions to diabetes research

Pioneering City of Hope diabetes researcher Samuel Rahbar, M.D., Ph.D., will receive the Samuel Rahbar Outstanding Discovery Award from the American Diabetes Association (ADA). The one-time namesake award is one of the association’s National Scientific and Health Care Achievement Awards. 

6/6/2012 - City of Hope and Duarte Unified School District awarded $1.3 million NIH grant to foster fledgling scientists

It’s only a few blocks from City of Hope to classrooms in the Duarte Unified School District, yet for some Duarte students, the road to becoming a scientist can seem a world away. A new grant from the National Institutes of Health (NIH) promises to bring this world within their reach.
